Is your HALO showing?

I am a blog stalker.  I admit it and I even post the blogs I stalk on my BLOG but today as I was catching up on the blog stalking I ran across a few things that sparked my interest.  I am extending a challenge to those of you (and to myself) who stalk or openly read here to LET YOUR HALO SHOW.  I know we all have them after all we are all children of God. (Don't believe me ask my 6 year old who gave a talk about it in primary).  This time of year in particular is a great time.  If you wouldn't mind comment on how you have or plan to show your halo.  I always need ideas for service and random acts of kindness.  Besides that it might make me appreciate my friends and family a little more so my halo could show a little too!

Hmmm....since a big 12 days of Christmas project is way too big for us around here our service project was to purchase a tree for a single mom who had her tree fall apart and can't have a real one because of allergies/asthma in the family. We are also 3 months late having Paisley a birthday part so she is hosting a little Christmas party and collecting donations for aunt opal's granddaughter, her husband was laid off a few months ago and still hasn't found a job. We will also be working on quilts, quilts, and more quilts! All in all, that is all the halo earning adventures around here...unless you count changing poopy diapers and such! Don't forget to share what you decide to do...
thanks brandie for your post! Here's an idea, find someone who is just having a bad day (nothing to major!) and take them dinner nothing fancy. This happened to me tonite...I had one friend already call and said she was bring dinner...but then someone TOTALLY out of the blue and unexpected dropped of dinner...I was shocked! It also made my day...it made be believe in friendship when I wasn't even sure there was much of one....no what I mean!!! Also, I went to this "putting Christ back into christmas" and here was an awesome Idea for a family to do...it is the giving stocking...where you have tons of random things in it like...and I love you bar (Candy bar with I love you on it) or "thank you" and let your kids pick an NON family member to take it to...or a "Your lights 'brightened' our holiday thanks for decorating your house so we can enjoy it" card attached to some treats (homemade or store bought) I have a whole paper of things we recieved that night I will email it to you! It was awesome!!!

You finally updated your blog with something good to look at. It's been a loooooooooooong week. lol ;) I could only look at your last post for like one second.

Back in October I had two sisters just randomly drop a little note and treat off at my door step. It SERIOUSLY ment so much to me that week. I'm hoping that the next time I have the urge to do that that I actually do it. They probably need a little pick me up. That dinner idea is great too. Maybe call a friend up and invite her over or ask if you can come by and surprise them with lunch. You've got me thinking so I may be back. Hopefully I can figure out something to do for someone.

The youth in our ward just finished the seminary basket project and we took around baskets of fruit to all the old people and just dropped off a message sang a song, you know the usual. I forget how lonely old people are especially around this time of year. Maybe you could just do the standard Holiday thing and visit the elderly people in your area. Other than that I am seriously lacking and my halo isn't too bright. If its not already organized for me I tend to let it slip by. So keep us all posted and maybe it will be like a pay it forward thing and we'll all be inspired by your good deeds! And yes I am proud to say that I too am a blog stalker!:)

How to get Urine/Sweat stains out of your Mattress

If you have kids you have pee stains I know it.  If you don't lucky you or you are a liar and in denial.  I have pee stains on more than one mattress.  I also have sweat stains on pillows because well I sweat a.lot .  It's a gift I know. I digress. Anyway I have tried many different ways to get urine/pee out of mattresses and I have been very unsuccessful so I did a google search and what do you know?  Another mom had pee stains too.  So I borrowed her recipe and it totally worked so I am sharing it with you. All you need are these few house-hold ingredients and a spray bottle.  I bought a really expensive one (NOT) I used one I had for my kids hair.  It worked great. You will need: 3 Tablespoons Baking Soda 8 ounces Hydrogen peroxide 1 drop dish soap Mix together well and use right away. My mom discovered that if it is not mixed well the baking soda will clog the sprayer.  You also can't store this apparently it doesn't last in the bottle and it is no longe

Master Bedroom Makeover Board and Batten

I highly recommend a few items although you don't HAVE to have them it just makes this project go so much faster.  I bought a pancake compressor with three nail guns included saved me on this project and a miter saw.  I bought both from Home Depot and they didn't pay me to say that it is just where I happen to shop.  I actually had this all measured out and went to Home Depot and they cut the mdf primed boards for me.  However I later purchased the miter saw and was then able to cut things right here at my house.  The nail gun I used is a 16 gauge gun that can shoot nails up to 3 inches.  I used a 2.5 inch nail to cover the thickness of the board and wall. Ok so I recommend deciding how you want your boards spaced first and measure and mark on the wall where you want them.  I tried to do every 16 inches because that is how far apart my studs were but then I realized my wall wasn't an even length and so I have some that look a little off on the ends.  Lesson learned
